Our story:

Stefan Tadevossian has been in the motorcycle industry since he was a fresh faced teenager in 1978.

He started his first business, A&S Performance Products with his brother Aram for one simple reason, the brothers were heavily into the motor cross scene and there were not enough places to buy products , buy bikes , have repairs carried out etc, in the local area, hence A&S were born.

The brothers quickly built up a very successful m/x business in the local area and fast became THE place to go for all your off road needs. Maico, Husky, KTM, Gilera and Kawasaki franchises soon followed, selling well in excess of over 100 motor cross machines per year. A&S carried on well in the nineties, although during this time the m/x scene had been hard hit by cases of foot & mouth and a recession which had a dramatic effect on the business. Also by this time Aram had left to pursue new ventures and Stefan's love of the off road sport was fading, as his new interest of road bikes was beginning to take hold, being a proud owner of a Honda NC30 at the time.

In September 1998, Stefan made the decision that after 20 years serving the m/x sector, he was going to make the transition completely to Road bikes which was fast becoming his new love.

By the end of 1998 A&S was no more and the new business, now called Road Racer  was well and  truly on it's way, with a new name, new shop layout internally, new stock lines, new work benches and new tools, all now geared up to offer new customers a complete package on the road bikes.

Stefan once again had his passion for bikes back. Now specializing in road bikes , mainly Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki & Kawasaki, from 50cc to 1500cc and everything in-between, Road Racer  was now well and truly up and running.

Stefan was not only joined by lots of new customers he also managed to keep a lot of the old m/x crowd, he wasn’t going to turn his back completely on the customers that had been so loyal for so long. Also by this time Stefan had been joined by his partner Melanie Hobbs, in the day to day running of the business, giving it a really family feel. Melanie soon became an integral part of the business, answering the phone, advising customers, ordering spares, making lots of cups of tea, and also offering a bike valeting service, which proved to be very popular.

In 2007 the team was complete with the newest member joining... Bailey the Golden Retriever.

Stefan prides himself in treating every bike that comes through the door as he would his own - with great care and an eye for detail. If you take a minute to talk to Stefan it becomes clear that he has a wealth of knowledge on most things motorcycle orientated. Road Racer tries to offer an all round good service to their customers, offering them good quality parts and excellent workmanship. You will also be given the best possible advice, and both Stefan & Melanie are always willing to have a chat and go through the best options available, choice is very important, every customer is different.

Stefan and Road Racer are now into their 13th year, it's been tough with some up's and down's along the way, but when other shops have come and gone, they still stand strong, serving the motorcycle community as best they can.

But why not find out for yourself..... Give them a call, book your bike in and let them show you the quality of service that is on offer.... what have you got to lose.
